In September last year Dave sold his business, SWL International Ltd in Invergordon, and after a few months he realised that he did not have anything to occupy his time any more.
They then looked at various projects and services that were missing from Dingwall, and after a couple of months of talking to friends and business people, came to the conclusion that the business/service that was really required and likely to succeed, was a good quality British/European Restaurant.
They then approached Mr Abdul Khan who had ran the Dingwall Tandoori in the High Street for over 30 years until a fire 3 years ago in the building above had seriously damaged the Tandoori building. This building was refurbished and available for rent/purchase, and a deal was quickly concluded.
The hard work then started, and some alterations were done, mainly to improve the kitchen, wash area, and toilets.
We then had to purchase new furniture, tables and chairs, and a complete new kitchen and wash area with the help of our manager Garry Clark and head chef Will MacKenzie.
We used local trades people to do all of the work in the Restaurant and with their help, always turning up when we needed them, we opened as scheduled on 24th May, 2016.
The support we have received during our first 4 weeks from the local community and holiday makers, has been amazing, and much more than we ever dreamed of.
